Mac Lipsticks: Relentlessly Red and Peach Blossom Review

After a long break from Mac I had lots of time on my hand to rethink my new lipstick choices. I wasn't really happy with my previous Mac shades so I wanted to pick something I would ACTUALLY wear. I was debating between Hue, Pure Zen and Peach Blossom for an everyday nude and Relentlessly Red vs. All Fired up for a perky matte shade. After lots of reviews, comparisons and web pictures I had a rough idea but in-person sight made me want to choose Relentlessly Red and Peach Blossom.

Peach Blossom is a fairly new addition to Cremesheen family. It's a neutral nude pink with some shimmery particles that leave a soft sheen on the lips. Nothing really noticeable since I usually stay away from shimmer lipsticks. I'm actually a bit disappointed since I expected it to be a more nude rather than a perfect match for my natural lip color. It would be a perfect pick for those who want a fuss free everyday lipstick. It's actually a more natural, easier pink comparing to Mac Angel. Angel is a bit too pigmented and rosy for my taste but Peach Blossom is a perfect alternative for pale skintones. It's definitely warmer than Creme Cup and darker than Hue. Cremesheens don't excite me as much as Matte and Retro Matte but it's still a pretty good formula. It gives color intensity yet it's creamy in texture and sturdy. I usually get about 3-4 hours of wear from Peach Blossom.

Relentlessly Red is a Retro Matte with a lovely reddish-pink-coral payoff that's gorgeous on the lips. It has a perfect balance between red-pink that makes it so unique in my eyes. Similar shades are usually too red or too pink for my taste but Relentlessly Red is just on the spot for pale complexions. Matte finish makes it wearable and fuss free for the entire day yet it makes it look modern and up to date. I actually wouldn't buy it if it hadn't had a matte finish since it's similar (or rather dupable) to Dior Fluid Stick in Wonderland. You can check comparison here. Yes, I'm in love and I can proclaim it as my favorite Mac lipstick at the moment. I already used over third of it and I ain't stopping. Wears down beautifully without any creases or lines. It also leaves a cute, light pink stain after a good 6-8 hours of wear. LOVE!

So if you're a fan of nude or bright lips, Mac have you covered. I was picking colors in the past by recommendations from other people, blogs,Youtube but I just couldn't bond with those colors. I finally researched their entire color range on my own and found my perfect picks for everyday or on special occasions. Just don't get too excited in their stores (I get an adrenalin rush in Mac stores) and research your color picks a bit before-hand. I also hate their store/counter lighting since it's always so freaking hard to see.
Their lipstick are about 16$/15.50GBP/19.50€ a piece but discounted in Duty Free Shops.
