MAC Toledo: Oxblood Swatch, Comparison, Dupe

MAC Toledo Collection caught my attention with funky, artistic packaging. Ruben (artist) and Isabel (fashion designer) Toledo, a power couple, both successful in their own field. While the collection is overflowing with all kinds of red, I was determined to try out a nude lipstick called Oxblood. And while I was already eyeing Kinda Sexy, Oxblood looks identical enough to be it's prettier packaged twin. Matte finish on this particular lipstick is absolutely incredible. I do enjoy regular Matte formula but with Oxblood, MAC really stepped up their game. Texture is joyfully creamy yet matte enough to last for couple of hours.

MAC Oxblood is almost identical to MAC Kinda Sexy, darker peach nude with a matte finish. I'm not sure why everybody is mentioning Oxblood as a light peachy nude - clearly, it's a darker nude on fair skin tones. I was playing around with the idea of purchasing Kinda Sexy for quite some time but I was never truly in love with dangerously peach undertone. Sale assistant pointed out that lipstick still suits my complexion and doesn't look too orange. After reconsidering Oxblood purely because of lovely packaging, I've decided to give it a go. I can actually pull out a peachy nude, score! Matte texture and deeper brown tones make Oxblood still wearable on fair skin tones. Hmm, neutral undertone isn't that bad after all...

While Oxblood looks a lot peachier on my lips, it still looks like a perfect darker warm nude in the bullet. The closest dupe is previously mentioned MAC Kinda Sexy. For cheaper alternative, Wet n Wild Megalast in 902C Bare it all seems to be a close pick. It's a tad more brown. Keep in mind, that Bare it All is supposedly a dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy. Rimmel Moisture Renew in Notting Hill Nude has a creamy finish with less pink and a bit darker base. Clearly, there isn't much of a difference once they're all on the lips.

How do you like Oxblood? Are you a fan of warm nudes?
