Laneige Cushions are legendary, particularly BB Cushion Pore Control. My interest was immediately sparked with a massive positive feedback from all over the world while hefty price restrained me from blindfolded purchase without even knowing what cushion really is. To refresh your memory, cushions are little cute compacts, similar to pressed powders, but with liquid BB, CC or foundation goodness. ''On the go'' application and tapping sponge technique makes it irresistible not to try it at least once. Starting with more affordable option first (Etude House in particular which is also under Amore Pacific brand as Laneige) I immediately threw myself in cold water after my ''cushion crush'' and got myself Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control. How would I describe Laneige with one word? Phenomenal.
Solely looking at Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control design, I can easily say it has the most astonishing packaging on the cushion market. Mint glass detail, silver lining and really good quality compact makes all the difference. Laneige compacts are the same size as other high-end Amore Pacific brands - IOPE and Hera refills will probably fit into your Laneige compact. Sincerely, packaging and good reviews were the main reasons I even considered choosing this product.
After first superficial reasons, I've realised that the main star is actually the product inside. Where to begin? Probably with texture. On first touch, BB Cushion is quite liquidy and lightweight. There are no signs of hefty texture whatsoever while it's still extremely pigmented thingy. It's buildable to the extent that it can cover almost everything - cushion is in the similar range range as heavy Revlon Colorstay if I can say so. Coverage is absolutely genius as the texture is light and buildable from initial layer of medium coverage up to full coverage without any caking or heavy feeling on the skin. I'm also surprised by liking Laneige Pore Control semi-matte finish as I am a true believer of glowy finish on dry skin. It's flattering enough for any skin type along with perfecting pores and texture while it's not unpleasantly shiny, heavy or sticky in humid weather. Do I need to emphasise I wear this little guy every day without a pause in current heat wave? Semi-matte finish in humid weather - check! I absolutely love it, period. It feels almost feathery without any major transfer or sticky feeling. On top of all, Laneige BB Cushion is super long lasting with over 7 hours of wear. Scent is pleasantly fresh, almost lemony but subtle. I choose shade #11 Light Beige which is the lightest, supposedly pinker version. It's honestly almost a perfect match, just a shade too dark for my winter skin. As you can see, #11 Light Beige is in no way pink toned but it is slightly less yellow than your regular Korean BB cream or Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. It delivers everything that is promised - semi matte finish, longevity, pore control, pore coverage, UV protection with SPF 50 and cooling effect.
As you might have guessed by now, Laneige quickly became my staple BB Cushion. It's an ultimate base product for hot Summer. As for other seasons, I'm safe to say that it will rock my world with unique, feathery, non-transfer texture (hello scarfs!). Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control is a heavenly product for oily/acne skin types while it's still perfectly balanced for my dry and other skin types. Price tag at 39,88$ seems quite terrifying on first glance but after realising you're actually getting 2 REFILLS with 2 sponges and beautiful case, there's not much to think. You're getting 2 cushions that will last for 6-8 months at least. Also, you can snap it at around 29$ in annual Jolse sales. The only downside is amount in each refill as you're only getting 15g for about 2-3 months of solid wear. Refills can be easily repurchased at about 20$ a piece, directly from Korea even less. I'm definitely not parting with my Laneige and with free shipping from Korea, you have nothing to loose other than gaining a beautiful product. If you're still on the fence and have doubts, you can maybe try refill first as the product won't dry out due to secured packaging with upper sponge separator. You can order Laneige Cushions and Refills on Jolse.com. Oh, and I think I found my favourite higher-end Korean brand.
